Well I finally managed to get all the parts I need to bring my Remington P14 back to life.
The toughest part was the stock but once I got that things were good to go.

I'll be posting pictures as I go along.

The first part will be to clean up the stock, as it has been in storage for a long time and has dust and grime especially on the inside.

The first pics will be up within a day or so.

They are hard to find, but worth the effort to keep looking.

I was lucky enough to latch onto a complete matching barreled action, Remington (RE) manufacture. The barrel, action and bolt are all matching, and I was also able to get a number of the other parts from the same guy.

The rest of the parts I have been accumulating, and I finally have enough to finish it.

I love the P14, and I hope to have this one ready for the next EOHC milsurp shoot in the spring.

Yeah, make sure to post some pics! I wanna see this. Just for future reference, does this 'guy' still have some parts available?

I'd like to find a p14 to restore.

It took a bit longer than expected, but here are the pics of the accumulated parts.

As mentioned the inside of the stock will require some cleaning, but the colour matches fairly well with the handguards that I have found.

This will be a fun one to put together.

More pictures to come once the work starts.

Just paid for mine...can't wait til it comes.

That butt stock looks nice. Like the color and the grain.

Do you have duplicate forestock pieces there?

I do have multiple handguards, the two dark ones are the handguards I will be using for this refurb. The top and bottom ones are replacement handguards made around WW2 if I not mistaken. They'll require some fitting for my next refurb. The other one is a replacement forward handguard for a M1917.

Tbolt - you're a patient man....pays dividends. Project is going to produce a very correct, complete P14...don't see many with all correct parts. Keep up the good work! Ron

Thanks Ron.
I should have this all together and ready for the spring milshoot at the EOHC.

Just out of curiousity does anyone know what exactly was involved in removing the front volley sight pieces? Ie. were they usually just taken off, or was there something more destructive done?

I have an order on the way from Brownells for my P-14.....A sear spring and a cocking piece for the bolt. The rifle had been in an attic for thirty years so I am told and from the crud and dust I believe them. Anyways can not wait to get it together and let a few rounds fly...glad to see other P-14 guys out there

Thanks Ron.

According to the North Cape book (For Collectors Only, Pattern 1914 and U.S. Model of 1917), it can go as far as to completely remove the dial sight and fit a wooden plug in the stock. Same for the buttstock disk. Those with wooden plugs were reconditionned at the beginning of WW2. On the rifle that were not reconditionned, the arm was removed (the disc stayed)
and the rear apperture was simply cut.

Camera is charging as I type, so it won't be long.
It is a simple functional put-together, I will be prettying it up later.
I live in an apartment and don't want to work with solvents and cleaners indoors, I'll save the major cosmetic stuff for when I have access to my Dad's workshop in a couple of weeks.

Looking forward to this thread! I have/love my P14 and I am refurbing it soon enough. Full re-blue and stock finishing. Still shoots great for being 98 Years old. Cheers.

Assembly is finished, gonna clean up, then upload the pics.
Looks like I have my rifle for the next EOHC Milsurp shoot(after I get the headspace checked out just to be sure)
