Hey Guys,
Im new here and could really use a hand in this. I just purchased a SR22 from a fello CGN'r and I would like to use it at the range for targets and on the farm for gophers. I have purchased a Vortex 3x9x40 for an optic but I would like a back up set of sights. Has anyone used the Magpul MBUS flip down sights, if so what can you tell me about them. I have been looking for a set here in Canada but I have heard people have been selling the PTS ones as regular ones and im worried ill get ripped. Any how Im also looking for a AFG (angled forward grip) Not sure where to get that. The entire idea that im going for is that I would like to mount my optic but not lose the ability to use the flip ups at a moments notice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks... I just ordered my AFG but im going to hold off and see if I can find a deal through CGN for the flip ups. I have a scope anyhow so I should be good for now :p

Maybe these?

Im kinda iffy on those. Im not totally against them because i know people have used them but I still want to see what else is out there. Im trying to see if anyone on CGN has a used pair for sale. Either like the Magpul MBUS knock offs like above or something else. For a good deal im willing to try just about anything....for a sight that is..sickkkos :p

I'm not sure if they're knock offs. I'd hazard a guess and say that they're probably the PTS versions that were originally made for airsoft. I've spent quite a bit of money buying from hical and I've talked to Dave on the phone and he seems pretty legit. I don't think he'd sell them if they wouldn't work.

Nah im not knocking Dave at HICAL.. hes great.. just talked to him today and placed an order. I asked if they were Magpul and he said they werent but were basically the same thing. Hey the way things get copied and duplicated these day they might be better.. I would agree that Dave is legit and good S$$% to deal with.

A set of Gen1 Magpul BUIS will probably cost you $100.00 ... $140 for Gen2's

Only difference from the two is the Gen2 is a bit flatter and not so bulbous looking.

And the ones pictured above, I am pretty sure they are PTS.

So I think Im going to go with the AR Carry handle as my rear sight but what do you guys think will be a good front sight to go with it? especially being that it will be mounted on the top rail and not on the barrel???

K we aren't here to rag on the dealers. Im new here and I don't want to cause waves but I think that any good business is going to give customers what they want. If someone wants a cheap sight than thats what they buy. If they want a good product thats what they buy. AR's are anywhere from what 500-2000+ depending..of course any product under 50 bucks is prob not the greatest. just my $.02 And besides you buy cheap stuff usually to try it..not to think it will be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Those sights are good on a rimfire, we suggest you go with a steel set or alternate for higher powered rifles. We are just offering a cheaper alternative. DILLIGAF, if you purchased those sights from us, & arent happy with them, return them for a full refund, if you purchased a different set off Ebay for $15, leave them in the parts box we all know too well....

I did just that and ran into a problem. I'm not sure if it's normal for an AR-15 to have the front and rear rails lined up while some I've seen the rail on top of the barrel guard is about 5mm lower than the rail on top of the receiver. I've got the NcStar handle and front flip up sights and I'm shooting so low that even with the rear sight adjusted all the way up I'm still about 6-7" low at 25yrds so I either need to find a way to lower the front 5-6mm (of course ALL the SR-22 top rails are full height to line up with the rear) or raise the rear handle. I don't think I can use a riser either because the smallest riser I can find is 1/2" and I think that will just screw me up the other way lol. Than again I was off the target all together before rising the rear sight so I don't really know how much of a difference that made. Maybe 1/2" is exactly what I need! I just got the gun, I'm new to shooting and I have only been able to get out once and shoot it and only for a short time before it got dark. Any ideas would be great!

Ya i thought of that already too..what are you using for your front sight? Im going to use a magpul flip up sight. They are made to sit inline on the top rail. The NCstar flip up front sights are meant to go on the gas block rail on the AR 15 I believe..(someone please correct me if im wrong) Anyhows thats why im going to try the magpul flip up front..It will be awhile till I know if it works or not but Ill be sure to post either way after I do get a chance to shoot it.
