What weight recoil spring for a 1911 9mm?

Im looking to replace the recoil spring in my NP29..but im not sure what weight I need to get..anyone know?

I believe the standard weight for the 9mm is 16#.

Right.. except that the one in the STI Spartan 9, for example, is #12.

To the OP, for normal loads, #12 or #14 should do; go higher or lower if your loads are respectively warmer or softer.
