Trailboss in rifle cartridges

I used it last summer to move my 8 year old up to shooting 223. Something like 5.5 grains behind a 55 grain bullet. Not super accurate but light shooting and good enough to get him out to 100 yards.

Loaded some .300 Wthby rounds with 24gr of trailboss behind a 155gr jacketed bullet.I have yet to try it but i'm hoping for a nice mild recoil for my kid to try.What kind of velocities should I expect?

I too think the only reason for the popularity of Trail Boss, is the fact it can't be loaded with a dangerous double charge.
Unique, 231 or 4227, etc, could easily produce similar velocities and be more accurate.

For some of us, well me any ways. I went to Trailboss to avoid the whole filler/no filler deal. Used 5744 for big bores and didn't like having that big airspace but research revealed the possibility of "ringing" a chamber with fillers. Trailboss and problem solved and controversy avoided.

I'd estimate about 2100 fps.
