260 Build Finally ready to rock and roll! ***Range Report

Glad to see a range report! I do believe that you would benefit from a skim bedding job on the bedding block.

Does the barrel seem to be copper fouling much?

I was thinking of doing a bedding job soon but I think I might get the action cerakoted early this summer. Then I will probably go ahead and bed it. I have been doing some reading and a lot of guys find they have to rough up the aluminum bedding blocks with 60 grit as well as drill some small dimples to get the bedding compound to adhere well. I haven't done a bedding job, so I don't really want to screw it up. So I will continue to read up on it or try and sit in on someone else doing one to watch.

As far as the barrel, I ran some 7.62 solvent through it after the 70 rounds I shot then let it sit a little while. I then tried a couple dry patches and the only thing I saw was some black streaks, no green/blue. So I guess it was just regular suet and no copper? Finished it up with some bore shine and it looks like a mirror!

* New scope mounted

Well, to begin a big thank you to Peter at Hirsch Precision for the new NF scope and to saskcanshooter here on CGN for the great deal on the Leupold Mark 4 Rings.

Still undecided whether it is worth me jumping up to a 20MOA base. I would love to get out to Homestead range this summer if I can find some more details on it. Anyways, I love the glass to say the least!

And a picture of the clearance I have with the Leupold Medium height rings and the 56mm objective on the scope:
