Finally a mil-mil target

We hear at Ranger Tactical have developed a MIL-MIL target for the persision shooter.Have a look and see tell me what you think? We will be at the gun:sniper: show in calgary at the BMO centre april 6-7.
It seams that i am having a problem loading the image of the target.
FINALLY A MIL-MIL TARGET (1MIL = 3.6"@100YARDS)
Target is split into 3 rows of 3. Each square is 1 mil at 100 yards
1st row of 3 is split into 1/4 mil squares(1/4 MIL = 0.9" @ 100yards)
2nd row of 3 is split into 1/2 mil squares (1/2 MIL = 1.8" @ 100yards)
3rd row is split into 10th of a mill grid lines (1/10 = 0.36" @ 100yards)

Some positive comments:
- I like how you have grid sizes in 1/4s 1/2s and 1/10ths
- I like the large number of aiming places you provide (circle and dot)

A negative comment:
- While it is true that one mil is 3.6" at 100yards, it's probably a good idea to get people out of the habit of thinking in inches on target if they want to deal with mils. Using cms and meters makes the "math" of it all a lot easier (one mil is 10cm at 100m)
 
I Like. I am switching my scopes to mil-rad and these would be great. I just wish the price was a little lower. I know you can't do that but I can think about it can't I?
 
the mil chart on the bottom is a nice touch.... it's mils / inches not cm because no=one thinks in metic terms in north america for the most part.. I don;t know of any one that would go to range some thing (say a deer) and think , this is ### cm from back to brisket... it would be more like , it's 18/20 inches from back to brisket.. most folks view stuff in inches when sizing it up, not cm's

Thanks for comments and yes it will make the math a lot easer i will go in and change it to cms and meters and have both thanks again hope you give our targets a try

This is true but the math is a lot easer most shooters shooting a mil scope should already have the math down weather its in inches or cms but for the beginner this will help a lot thanks for the comment all feed back is welcome

Anyone shooting a Mil scope SHOULD be thinking in Metric and not Inches as this is how the Mil scopes are set up (or at least should be, but I know they also come Mil reticle with MOA turrets).

Shoot MOA reticles if you think in inches.

Nice Target anyhow OP, you should make them in both MOA and MIL's

Just my $0.02

Yes.

Took me soooo many years to make MOA brain instinctive .... ain't about to surrender that comfort zone .... going to be SOP till the cows come home.:D

I have a MOA target in the works as well as as a few different mill torso targets.Deer moose and elk body size mill targets for the hunter.Just waiting on final proofs on all the above.

I don't understand the reasoning for 1/4 mil squares. The vast majority of mil scopes have 1/10 mil clicks.

Mils are neither imperial or metric. A milliradian is an angle that subtends an arc who length is 1/1000th of the distance from the vertex. A mil is 1 meter at 1000 meters, but it is also 1 yard at 1000 yards or 1 inch at 1000 inches.

Most mil scopes are FFP and thinking about centimeters and/or inches is not required. Its actually counter-productive and is one of the first things you need to "un-teach" a user who is new to it. You simply measure with the reticle and input the values directly into the turrets in mils. The same can be done with a mil/mil SFP scope at the ranging magnification (or an MOA/MOA one).

I can see how some people would find this target useful for zeroing, but personally I would remove any reference to inches or centimeters and simply put the distance at which the grid is accurate.
