I am looking to buy targets for pistol shooting, the kind that indicate you hit.

I like the Visishot or GlowShot ones but have a hard time finding them in stores. I know Canadian Tire carries some and my local gun shop will have them from time to time but I want to look at the full line and buy what I want. I have tried to get them online but have been unsuccessful because they are all American stores that will not ship to Canada.

Any ideas? I hate shooting a regular paper because after one mag I am not sure where I am hitting anymore and it is a waste of ammo.

I got some Darkotic Zombie Splatter targets on ebay, little pricy but i like them. The real problem is they all have differant names i.e. VisiColor, Splatter, Reactive, Gloshot, VisiShot and so on

take a sheet of bright paper, cover it with strips of wide packing tape, and spray paint it with flat-black paint. Then the bullet strikes the target, it flakes off around the bullet hole, leaving a ring of the underlying color. I use a white out pen to make the square in the middle of the target but spray paint and a template would work better.

This really works great and is a lot cheaper than buying the factory targets, and if only takes a few min to make some up, and use a fast drying paint when you spray them !!!

I've been badmouthing the Visishot targets, but they have helped me fix/identify errors in my shooting, by allowing me to see where every shot lands and groupings, easily. They are expensive, so I still use them sparingly. Maybe there is somewhere that you can buy them in bulk, so to not spend $12 for 10 at Cdn Tire.

That's a good idea, i'm gonna give it a shot

I have used the Darkotic zombie target when taking new people to the range. They are fun but not ideal for improving your shooting.

As for the homemade approach, while I appreciate the advice, I don't have the time.

I have found them on Amazon for a decent price but couldn't order them into Canada.

That's a beauty idea, thanks! I think I'm going to have to try that...
