RWS Brenneke Slugs

LOL, Not interested in hijacking anyone's thread, just trying to help the OP find something that he can actually use in his shotgun this year!

For anyone that was interested the Challenger slugs from Sterling, her is the broken link. As mentioned by other posters, they are NOT RWS, but use the same type of slug. And they are available.

Regards,

Since NS doesn't seem to want to tell us who has these in stock, I bought the last 3 boxes of RWS from Accurracy Plus, then we pretty much have to find alternatives. I appreciate you taking the time. Thanks.

Glad I got 10 boxes of rottiweiler classics and 5 boxes of brenneke gold 3" mags. 600grs of pure evil awesomeness. I use challengers as well great accuracy from both smooth and rifled barrels

Please note that the RWS slugs in question are called the "Exact"

The product remains the same however.

I should have stock on a modest amount of 2 3/4" slugs. They are available to order through a dealer willing to order them for you.

3" slugs are about 60-90 days away from delivery.

Thanks,

Can you provide a little more detail, please? A few months ago I ordered RWS Brenneke's from Accuracy Plus, but was shipped the "Exact" instead.

They assured me they were just as good so I relunctantly let the matter drop. But upon further examination on RWS' site the slugs are clearly different.

Seeing as the "Exact" (based on what I have in my hands) is a different slug, can you confirm that we can expect similar slug hardness and effectiveness as a dangerous animal (grizzly / polar bear) defensive round?

Thank you.

Thanks to someone suggestion from CGN i tried to find these slugs at Hougen's Sports Lodge and wala Rotwell Brenneke slugs availlavble in 2 3/4 and 3" for a decent price. Already warned him there would be more calls lol.

Challenger slugs

I've been trying to buy some of these in Calgary for a few years since the last batch ran out.
One of my friends had a close call with a 3 year old bear tearing up the garbage cans he had just finished loading in his pickup truck to get them to the dumpster.
When he stepped outside with his 870 smoothbore slug gun loaded with Challenger slugs, he expected the bear to flee as they usually do.
But this critter just jumped down the truck and ran straight to him like a dog.
My friend kneeled down and shot him right on the nose at about 30 feet max.
The slug traveled trough the nose, brained him and continued on the underside of the spine to exit just behind the rib cage.
The bear just flattened, making a gurgling sound and never moved. He was dead before hitting the ground.
These Challenger slugs pack quite a wallop.
PP.

That sounds about right PerversPepere, I think I've had about ten or eleven close encounters with black bear while walking/hiking/hunting/fishing. Only once did I feel in need of a firearm & I did not have one. Stupidly the carbine was left in the trunk of the car while some of us were building tree stands, but the guy next to me then started a chainsaw. Bear gone!
Only one thing is for sure here, bears are unpredictable critters.

They a sponsor? Might wanna break that link. Anyone with north sylva as a disturber can order them. Gone fishin in town here can get em

why "break that link"? isn't part of the point of this site for members to be able to give each other a heads up on good deals? if sponsors aren't competitive perhaps they need to review their pricing.

I think people hear the name Brenneke and start drooling for Brenneke USA.
They market it as cool tactical slugs.

I think it has less to do with marketing and a lot to do with reputation and research. There is not a lot of info on challenger slugs or these exact slugs. I am sure the exact are the same hardness, just with different shape. They look pretty similar to me.

He mentioned that because it is site policy to not directly link to non supporting dealers. Good deals can still be discussed and the link just needs to be broken up.
