as for the best souce of infor, pick up 2 or 3 relaoding books and start reading, make sure one of them is "the abcs of reloading" watch videos and read... i taugh my self to reload with nothing more then youtube and the steps found on rcbs website, its really not that hard to learn
as far as equptment, since you and your dad are doing it together i recoment to pool your money and buy nice stuff to start! RCBS is sort of the chev 350 of the relaoding world, there is better and worse, but they are easy, reliable and available almost every where.
are you goin to be loading pistol, rifle, both? some presses will do pistol only, a single stage is great for low volume rifle but takes forever to do pistol. So give us a bit more information and we'll be able to help more

trim, chamfur / debur
reprime
powder charge (correct weight obviously)
seat bullet to correct / desired OAL
any thing after that is, load tuning, experimenting, more advanced stuff. but the basics to start are simple
