I know that Sako offers an extra-short action for 204, 222, 223 and so on.

What other shorter actions are out there?

What would be the shortest length action available for a 20 Vartag, or 20 VTT?

Aren't they the same length as a Model Seven?

.

Seems to me they were shorter, but now I'll have to check . . dammit!

Edited to add . . .
I can't find anything to indicate that the XP-100 is shorter than a M-600/M-7 but there are suggestions that some builders consider it stiffer making it a slightly better choice for bench guns.

Remington have a new one in the works... a scaled down 700 made for the .223 length, smaller diameter as well. The action doesn't fit any of the old 700 stocks... Offered in high polish blue finish or stainless. CNC'ed in China and will sell for the same as an SPS here in Canada. I am looking for my pictures and will post when I find them...

Browning made Super Short Action (SSA) A-Bolt rifles for the WSSM family of catridges a few years back. Rifles and cartridges have all been discontinued.

Their new X-Bolt is available in a SSA that is a 1/2" shorter than the regular short action.
