;)Summer wear:p and I still have three or four pair, shortened as was required, from my west coast logging days.

I was on the Canary Islands in January 1972.

It was a cold day on the beach in Los Chriatianos so I hand my Stanfields on. Another guy came up to me wearing one too and said "You're from Port Hardy aren't you?"

"Yeah," I replied, "But how the hell do you know that?"

"I saw you in the Seagate hotel," he explained.

Turned out we both worked for O'Connor Logging, only in different camps.
 
A few of my hunting buddies wear them religiously.
Warm and I guess it's the quiet thing too.
I haven't yet got into the swing.
They seem to blend in the bush fairly well too.
No shine to them and they color into the shadows as well.
I call them toppers as the crowd put them on last.
 
I think it has something to do with the Wetcoast mindset. Staying dry isn't going to happen so you wear something that keeps you warm regardless. Wool's it.
 
'Logger Cardigan'.......Used to make them in white wool years ago (go to town Stanfield's).....also used to be 100% wool.
The best dressed man was 'Relic' on the Beachcombers, that guy knew how to dress for comfort! I could always wear them next to the skin even when they were loaded with sweat and the fine fir bark dust from the powersaw.

Great garment and Canadian too......wear them with pride!

I have one 'pair' in white, ;)but they're the full body deal with a trap door:p.

They still make them and you can find them in any Marks, plus stores that cater to loggers, ONO's, Ladysmith Store and a few others.

I wear mine when ever I am out fishing, hunting or working. They wear like Iron, last a long time and keep you dry and warm when in the outdoors.

Just because guys wear them, doesn't mean they are new! I never had them but always wanted them. Looked at Mark's Work Wearhouse and a few other stores where we get safety gear and work clothes but didn't see any. And yes--unfortunately my job requires more and more office work all the time...

Wear them as they were ment to be worn.......against your skin. Stanfields are underwear! Do you wear the bottoms over top of your pants?
They will 'wick' moisture on the hottest of days.......

The bottems, yes with a pair of wool fisherman pants ovet top for the very cold days. The tops, no. On top of or over a shirt is the primary method of wear, or at least it was before the metric system came in and when I was using that appearl on a regular basis.

you can get them anywhere. Even walmart sell them i think. Yeah i wear them almost everyday. Not against my skin though....ewww.... I dont like the feeling of scratchy wool on my skin thanks.

As my hero 'Archie' would say,:rolleyes: "Help me Lord":p!! ;)The experience or the appearl code of ethics I speak of has its roots in Gold River:p. You have to nip these things in the bud. If you don't, before you know it, you'll be telling me my Pierre Paris caulk boots with hammer in caulks aren't state of the art:p.

They're not kept in a display like the jewels we're making them out to be! They're usually in the underwear sections, in plastic packages. Two dudes Indian Arm wrestling in the underwear on the package. :D
