I just filed my tax return, as a result, I am now considering an NEA lower for my Swiss.

I just read over angryeyebrows' review, and there definitely seems to be some quality issues. I'm only on page two of that particular thread so maybe my questions will be answered in a few more pages, but have the lowers been improved since the first batch?

I don't know anything about AR's, so what additional AR parts will I need? (eg mag release?). Is there any way to modify an AR pistol grip to fit this lower? Would it be possible to machine some sort of adapter?

Where can I get one? How much are they? I notice the NEA website says "out of stock". Are there dealers with them? Who has the best price (or are they all the same)?

Also, are the NEA front quad rails still available? Where, and how much? They are not on NEA's website anymore.

Thanks!

Yes several. But why dwell on that?

Because I'm trying to decide if I should buy your product, and the only useful information I can find is based on the earlier, apparently inferior, version. I would love to hear about the current product.

angryeyebrows, in your review thread NEA had indicated that he was sending you a replacement... did that not happen?

I think I'm going to try one out on my classic green. I hate to lose the folding stock but I want mag compatibility. I don't think the price of the SAN lowers is realistic.

I couldn't be happier with mine. Zero problems.

Uh Because the first ones were junk and the man is interested in what you have done to improve it? What's different now? What changes you have made since I wrote my review? Don't forget pictures to illustrate these improvements.

No I wont. I think this is the third or fourth time you have posted your review, and we have had the same discussion every time. It's like deja vu.

Its true, Angrueyebrows was unhappy with his. Since then almost everyone else has been happy. There are a pile of these out there in Canada, the US and in Europe, and only one unhappy oft posted review. ;)

Tell you what cjd966, if that review turns you off, PM me and I'll send you one of my personal lowers to play with for a month, just cover the shipping. Just please take the time to come back and post your findings here when your done.

If it helps, I have two of the conversions...
One on my CQB and one on my (now converted to non-restricted) Carbine.
Both function flawlessly with P-mags, 10 round 'pistol' mags, etc......
I had issues with clearance with P-mags when first purchased, but the guys at NEA accepted responsibility and rectified the problem immediately.
Great product, outstanding customer service....
Can I be the first to ask that this witch hunt end?
There seems to be a large population of hard asses that just can't let this issue go.
Enough already....Please!

angryeyebrows, I appreciate your review. I have no doubt that there were some issues at least with the early version. Hopefully they have in fact been improved, however, I haven't been able to find any information on the newer ones yet.

smak_daddy, thanks for the input. I'm sure there are many others who are happy as well.

I don't think that was directed at me, but just incase, I have no issues with NEA. I just wanted some more information before I bought an expensive product.

PM Sent.

Yes. I spoke to Jeff personally on the phone multiple times and he made a deal to sell me a second "fixed" version at cost, which he assured me would be good to go. The pics on the website are actually of the second "fixed" lower from the new and improved batch and as you can see, same level of quality. I sold the original to try and get some of my money back out of it.

That's because there are no improvements! I posted my review once, in the thread that I started. It is also posted on my website. Don't act like I'm a broken record simply regurgitating the same misinformation over again. I gave you (NEA) the opportunity to correct yourselves and honour your word but you could not even do me the courtesy of replying to my emails.

Maybe you want to try and sell me another lower at a "discount" or make me another offer via PM and not follow through? Interested in fixing your reputation? Maybe you should start by righting the wrongs done to those who supported your company in the beginning.

You're right. I PM'd him last night, I would love to take him up on the offer. Unfortunately I don't have an AR stock or mag to use it with.
Are their any other AR parts I would need?

He is going to send you one of his personal lowers, I'm sure it will come with all the bits. It would be a bit bizarre if he stripped it down, what a pain that would be. You are a lucky man just do your part and post a review of your findings.

Im curious about this swiss lower stuff. Whats the deal? Can you get a swiss upper just by iteself? How much do they run?

I have TONS of AR stuff. Was looking at a Tavor. But how much would set up cost be of a unit.

Yes, about $2100

AFAIK you would also need a LPK($459) , AR mag release,a stock and stock mounting hardware.
