Sadlak pistons for M14 ...

Depending on your purpose. For moose hunting I think that 180gr will strike and penetrate better. That's why I have Sadlak grooved pistons.

You would probably be fine shooting the odd 180 out of it. I'd love to have your piston. I'm planing on shooting alot of 175 SMK's this summer. It would be good insurance for a relativley low price. I'm not convinced I need anything other than a heavier spring. That said, the price of a piston designed to shoot heavies is inexpensive. Is there any others that do the same job that can be shipped to Canada, Brownells piston for example?

There are several manufacturers of pistons for usgi spec cylinders. Some are TiN coated some are not.
Sadlak has their normal pistons that are coated and the "NM Grooved" . This piston has a specific purpose and is not a standard NM upgrade. It's purpose is to operate with bullets weighing over 176gr. So unless that's yer plan, stay away from the "NM grooved" pistons.
Otherwise, unless you prefer a certain manufacturer, you some choices out there, other than sadlak. As H20 Man mentions, smith enterprise makes some awfully nice pistons :D , check brownells for availlability.
And for those who are gonna ask, NO these american made pistons are NOT compatable with MOST chinese cylinders.

Since my head is still hurting from a call to Wholesale sports earlier (never again!!!) I'm just going to ask. What pistons are compatiable with my M-305 that will reduce the battering shooting a steady diet of 175's will produce. If there is nothing worth the coin, what parts need to be changed in order to install some of these higher quality parts. I'm looking to do it as cheap as possible. It may not be absolutley nessasary but if it's not too much it may save me money in the long run.

There are no aftermarket pistons of any kind, that I'm aware of, for the chinese gas system.

Really, we have NO IDEA if the chinese rifle will suffer the same fate as a us made rifle.
I say this because A) I've seen no conclusive tests and B) I can safely say, the chinese gas assembly's internal dimensions and piston dimensions, may in fact be allowing more gas volume through the cylinder anyways.
However, the sadlak NM grooved piston works to bleed off gas in a specific manner while still maintaining piston pressure.

Anyhow, for use of a sadlak or any other piston designed for rifles using US dimensions, there is an affordable route.

Buy a stripped Springfield cylinder from brownells
An M1A spindle valve , pin and spring as well as a gas plug.
Run whatever US made piston you chose. Re use your gas band plate

WOW I hate how our laws screw us and the demand for certain parts SKYROCKET due to availability in this faarken country.

I found a Sadlak NM Grooved gold tin piston for $25 US ... and can't buy it ... yet regular Sadlaks are going for $100 or more on here ... I am a sucker ... fAACK! :( :( :(

I wonder..... I'm gonna take a chinese piston and groove it in the mill.
Don't expect any fast results but I'll dedicate a new in the grease rifle to the cause and with the modified piston, start runnin only 180's in that rifle and see how long it takes till I need a new oprod.
If it works and I can get 1000 rounds or more down the tube.... I'll find someone to make some pistons.
I'm also gonna call sadlak and enquire as to their decision to not renew export liscencing and if that will be changing any time soon.
