Why reload the rifle after the thing fired on closing the bolt? There is serious problem with the rifle. It fired without pulling the trigger. And then you wrote about it in a public forum!
Thanks for jumping in to help out guys. Some people act like theuve never had a gun related issue issuebefore and make it seem like they were born perfect. Yeah it wrnt off when i ahut the bolt for all i knew something hit the trigger as my buddy was sitting at the gun when i eent to help him with it. And if it was a trigger malfuntion the worst it could do is fire off another shot when i closed the bolt while pointig the gun safely down range again. All the reading ive done on tjis trigger including the ibstructions received from the company said dont mess with the settigs unless you know what youre doing otherwiae you risk having an un safe trigger. I havent touched it. Ibstalled it. Gave it the smash test. Everything worked as it should have.
I originally thought i broke the spring when it stopped working but it was just dorty. Dry fired her a couple dozen times and no issues. Ill keep some lighter fluid in my range bagin case this happens again. Ia there a brand thats preferred for this or just any liquid lighter fluid will work ?
Because how else is he supposed to figure out what the problem is? It is a rifle, not a nuclear device.
And there wasn't a major problem with the rifle. It was a dirty trigger which was easily fixed. And why not write about it in a public forum? This way others can learn from his experience. Having a rifle malfunction isn't illegal or even immoral.
thats what i figured, yellow plastic kind, what about just using a spray gun cleaner? ive got a spray can from crappy tire that i use to clean out tight areas, can i just blast that in to the trigger or will the lighter fluid work better?
it is what it is man, the gun missfired, i shot it two more times to see what would happen. if the bolt came back it would have stopped against the lock. next time ill know better, its all a learning process. the guns fixed now if it happens again ill approach it differently
Why wouldn't he write about it?
The guy had a bolt action rifle malfunction, not a semi auto go full auto and brag about it.

The malfunction - no problem. I do have a problem with the fact this rifle was loaded after a "surprise shot". The firing mechanism malfunctioned! No big deal, I'll load it up again. Mishaps happen, but when a rifle fires without trigger pull it should not be loaded until trigger is fixed.
Its a Rifle basix trigger, why is it a Remington safety of doom misfire? They are uncommon if the trigger hasn't been adjusted (tampered with).

Just speaking of the last remmy I owned that had the safety issue. 338 lapua is a heck of an eye opener when its not expected.
get some snap caps and work on it at home. I'd avoid tempting fate with live rounds, even if it is pointed in a safe direction and all that.
