I am in the market for a pistol-caliber carbine. I already shoot and reload 9mm, so ammo is cheap and plentiful. The JR caught my eye, as it is non-res and takes 10rd G17 magazines.

Now that C-19 has ascended into law (time to celebrate)...any reason for me not to pull the trigger? :D

Dont want to talk you out but i had a chance to shoot a Sub-2000 Keltec and this little bugger is a hell of fun for 300.00 less, wanted to order one for myself this morning from Epps but i will be waiting at least 5 more days... JP.

Wondering the same thing. Handled one for the first time this past week. Get rid of that ridiculous forend, and it would be a handy N-R plinker.

I would try , but in fact I just came back from putting about 200rds downrange with it and setting up my bushnell red dot, and I have a big smile on my face. The bugger is surprisingly accurate and not a hiccup in terms of feeding and ejecting. The beretta, gp100 and Norkie 9mm only saw about 200rds between themselves, as the JR was the star of the day. Oh , and you don't have to have an ATT to bring this puppy along. Now not even a certificate .............OOOOOOOO HAPPY DAY !!!!!

Where did you find Sub-2000 for $300?!?!

you are hardly helping to talk me OUT of buying a JR!!!

JR is awesome I love mine. Everytime I bring it out I hardly shoot the other guns I bring with me. Its a great gun from a great company. I have 7 or 8 guns and it is by far my favorite, all things considered. Now that the registry is gone you have no more excuses. :)

Well I bought one last fall and have put enough down range that I can now comment on these on a personal note. I bought mine in a .40 s&w.

I have now shot it in -25 in heavy snow, in heavy rain, and in beautiful conditions, and not one jam with mine to date.

I phoned the makers of these and asked about lead bullets and if i could use them, there smith said yes, it wont hurt the gun but could cause some feeding issues, so i tried it. I tried it lots to be honest and no issues to date.

I topped mine off with a STI relfex site that seems to work well

At 25 yards with copper wash or lead it will cut a ragged hole, at 50 yards it will shoot 2-3 inch groups. I never tried 100 because well that is not what this gun is all about.

I am quite happy with it,

Some will ask if you want an Ar why not buy an Ar and my answer is I have 4 thanks and I have.... The JR is a fun gun, low recoil and a pleasure to shoot, and most important non restricted..

However carry your paperwork, some would say regardless.

So buy it or dont buy it, no one can judge the want of another.

If you are looking for a plinker that is a pleasure to shoot off hand and very cost effective ammo wise, than go for it.

If you are a looking for a semi auto that you want to shoot out past 50 yards or play with some percision shooting out to 100-200 yards than this wont work, and a STI or Colt HBAR is more suited to your needs

Don't buy one!
There I tried.

Buy a Kriss Super V instead! I want one of them for my next carbine.

I have a Sub2000 Glock version and like it alot. Folds up into a backpack, pretty accurate and only had a couple stovepipes when it was new and it hasn't had any issues in a long time.

I've never handled a JR but am not overly impressed with the looks of them. But that's just my opinion.

Buy them all and then give us a first hand comparison.

I got my JR yesterday. Topped it off with a cheap bushnell red dot.

I had a hell of alot of fun today with it. It ran great. Only thing is with the charging handle against my leg I can't bump fire a whole mag.:(

I got to try a Sub2000 today too. They are both great. I'll be getting the keltec sooner or later. :D

Good luck not buying one.

I'd say "Git'er done"...

Other than marginal esthetics, it rates High on the "funfactor" scale.

I don't own one but did shoot it.
What can I say???

it is very reliable
low recoil
accurate
cheap to feed
10 rnd mags
lots of addons
non-restricted
well priced

...to name just a few...

I can see lots of reasons to stay away from this rifle...

I have added my 2cents on this subject before. I have a Kriss (45acp) Sub2k (9mil) and a Jr Carbine(9mil).
I have not seen or shoot the Thureon Defence 9mil , but I would check it out before I put my $ down on the JR. (I think it is let trouble to break down and clean.)
You cannot really compare the Kriss and sub2k to the Jr. IMHO it is between the JR and thureon Defence in 9mil.
I like my Jr a lot . My negative comments are . It did not come with a AR or castle nut wrench included. You need one of these to break it down and clean it .
I have had the hex head bolt on the charging handle come loose after 75 rounds.
It was a simple fix. BUT it sit came loose. To me that adds up to a week point.
How ever that said all the other comment about it being a super fun and accurate plinker are 100% true.
Reliable gun in vancouver has both the JR and thureon in stock , maybe phone them and get there opinion on the two.
