Ruger SR-22R Bolt Won't Slide Forward Anymore

I was out shooting my SR-22R today, and the bolt stopped sliding forward (closed). I can slide the bolt all the way back, lock it, but when I hold the bolt lock again to let the bolt go forward, it will not close (and acts like it is still locked). The gun is basically new, and it had been working fine previously. I shot about 150 rounds through it on one occasion, then today maybe about 31 rounds went through it before the above happened.

The manual has steps to disassemble the gun do so I could take a look, but the first step involves making sure the bolt is closed, which I can't do.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

There's no round in the chamber/in the action anywhere. The bolt is stuck in the locked back (action open position). Trying to get the bolt to slide forward (action closed), does nothing, it still stays locked open, but I can pull the bolt back like it normally does (it just won't continue going forward to close).

Have you pulled it all the way back and try working the bolt lock mechanism up and down with varying pressure? Mine seemed to be stuck last night but a little work at different angle on the bolt lock handle freed it up and works fine now.

Take it apart anyway with the bolt locked back. When you remove the pins holding in the trigger assembly and remove the assembly your bolt should slam forward. If this happens there is something wrong in the trigger assembly. Try following a youtube video for disassembling and reassembling the trigger group. It's not super complicated.

It's that, or your bolt is catching on something which you'll be able to see with the trigger out.

Thank you for all the responses guys. I ended up taking apart the gun, and honestly thought it would be more complicated (I've never disassembled a gun before). Turns out there was nothing actually wrong with the gun, except a small plastic-like clearish piece of something rather that was maybe 2x2x3mm in size was somewhere in the bolt locking mechanism, and was causing it to not allow the bolt to close even when the lock was pressed. It was kind of by chance that it got knocked out and I noticed it while examining it under a light. The bolt lock and bolt slide seem to be fine now, and working better than they have before. I'm not sure how that piece of whatever got in there, but it definitely did not look like anything that could have come off of the gun.

Thats a part of a zip tie I'll bet. Rugers ar famous for having chunks of zips in them when brand new.

Didn't know that, but that would be piece number two in the case of mine. The other one having been in the barrel and rather large. Sounds like that is probably it.
