i'm wondering what my savage model 25 in 204 ruger is worth. i've maybe only put 2 boxes of rounds through it. it has a nikon pro staff 3-9 scope with the bdc recticle mounted on it. let me know your thoughts on what i should sell this combo for.

retail less 40 %

Where have you ever seen on CGN guys selling near half of retail?? Most rifles on here seem to be at a 25% discount from new.

Rifle- $620
Scope- $200
Rings and bases- $50

To go and buy that package new in the store today would be over $900. Id list it for $700 obo. One also must consider the time of year. Lots of guys are looking for gopher guns and the .204 is the king in the patch.
One thing Ive learnt with my 126 deals on CGN is dont let anyone low ball you, do you're research and you can get a fair price.

Consignment price is +25% out of the chute.

And of course the price of your firearm decreases as the condition worsens.......... Shop and compare.

I would also check with your local gun stores to see if there are any "specials" on as you will have to compete with them or wait until the "special" is over.

There is no purchaser willing to pay the extra if your item has sentimental value.

Scopes, ammo, slings, cases and any other extras "may" sweeten the pot if the sale is local (no shipping).

It is all about pricing and how motivated you are to sell.

Good luck

That is pretty tough to agrue with. That makes 100% sense. Research and research and know your retail values. Listing it for retail makes no sense. That why guys have btt for 5 months and never change their price. Still hoping to get thier money back. Once you buy a guy and bring it home expect to reduce it by a minimum of 10% before you even take it out the box. You only win at this game by buying and almost always lose at selling unless it is a special item.

New price from Gun nutz sponsors. Rifle $599.00 Scope $169.00 base and rings $50 = $820.00 you don't include taxes or shipping . Used price $500.00 -$550.00

One other thing I found if you want more for your guns is to sell everything separate. Selling a rifle with bases and rings will not add value to your sale. Strip the gun down and sell the rings /bases separate as well as the scope. Good rings and bases sell fast and ship cheap after you sell your gun. I've also found that cheaper scopes sell really fast and hold a decent amount of value, the rimfire crowd loves them as do guys who don't really care about optics.
