Hi, i just finished my CORE and want my number for the LEH draw.
Do i go to a Gov't agent office? Or do i need to Join the BC wildlife federation and get a certificate from them and then go to a Gov't office?
thanks Jared

Congratulations on first post and first BC hunting licence coming up.
I thought you would get your number card through the mail.
I taught that course for a few years, but it was right after the whole CORE program was developed, so that is quite a while ago and I forget how the students got their cards.

You have mail in your results to bc wildlife fed. they will send you a certificate
that you can take to the gov't office for your number.

When you get your certificate and head down to the ServiceBC office to get your number make sure you take your health care card with you- it's proof that you are a BC resident.

I can't help the OP with his question but I would like some clarification on the B.C. system.

I am assuming that CORE is a hunter education course.

Is it administered and taught by the government or the B.C. Wildlife Federation?

BCWF is under contract to deliver the CORE training. Once a course has been passed the BCWF issues a certificate that the person then takes to a ServiceBC office which issues a gov't hunter number.

I love this forum, always find answers to my questions.

Anyone have any idea how long it takes BCWF to mail out the certificates after they receive test results?

I sent mine off yesterday and am hoping ill be able to get into some LEH draws for this year.

i've always gone in person to the bcwf office to speed up the process (once for me, then the mrs a few yrs later). they issue you a card and take your $$$, then head down to the service bc (there's one in squamish and one in maple ridge) and they will issue you a hunters number and give you a card (free). after that you are good to go...you can even get the LEH cards from the service bc office while your there. i'm not sure what the bcwf's turn around time is, but it may be worth the drive down to burnaby...you might be a hostage to the postal system between that and the leh draw...getting the cards to victoria in time that is.
