Dust cover mounts suck. Period. They don't hold zero. What's the point in a scope that won't retain zero?

Save your money and do it properly if you are going to do it!

i want to try that one i posted and D/T the back of the mount and screw it to the reciever. the choat one is prolly the answer tho,,, its steel not alum to just need to find one

there is also a shotgun "converta mount" made by weaver. Kind of like the choate (which I have) but quick detachable.

Yes you can use the convertamount for an 870 but you need to cut a bunch of aluminum off of it. it is easy with a mill but would suck with a file.

no the converta mount is not a saddle mount. It sort of looks like half a saddle mount.

Depends on the design of the mount. I used a Wide-view see-under mount for a Mossberg 500 on an SKS that worked out great
