Hey all.

I feel so ashamed about thinking such bad thoughts here.

I own 2 Pythons that I am reluctant to shoot because they are in pretty damn good shape. Waiting for a 22 Diamondback to show up.

Kinda got thinking about Norinco making one. Know it will not be any where near a real Python. But I would shoot it.

Think there would be any kind of interest? Actually thought about contacting Norinco or one of their Canadian distributors and making a request.

If they are making you feel uncomfortable or giving you anxiety, I would be glad to take them off your hands, and help you with this predicament. ;)

Then, you could go and buy GP100 and shoot it to your heart's desire. :ar15:

I bought a brand new 4x4 , not a scratch. I Keep it in a temperature controlled garage, until they pave the forest.

Norinco revolver idea is interesting though.

It'll never happen. As much as I like revolvers the wheelguns is a small share of the market here in Canada. And the rest of the world where Norinco sells firearms is in the same boat.

Also while a lot of the Norinco guns are certainly servicable they lack the fine fit and degree of attention that a proper Colt revolver clone would require. I just can't see such a thing happening at all.

If you know its not a Python, and expect its not going to perform like a Python, why not enjoy your Python? I understand the collectable thing, don't get me wrong. I have an early Colt I've never fired. But man, I want to! I bought ammo but never did the deed. I don't want to risk damage to it, but part of me says use it and enjoy it. I could buy a new one from various manufacturers, but it wouldn't be the same as the original.

Why not take your idea to Uberti or Pietta they already make some fairly decent revolvers based on other designs usually from the 1800's, Colt might get upset if they copied a modern design though.

why not shoot the python? your going to say it will reduce the resale value but it likely wont go down by the about of the value of the norinco........and you would be shooting the python. no brainer. if it gets damaged by a few shots then you are holding it in way to high esteem

whats a lifetime of shooting a python worth?

you have one life to life, shoot the damn python, or buy a 686 or gp 100

whats the point of owning a fine firearm like that your whole life and shooting a piece of #### so someone else can enjoy it.

That's why I have two Pythons as well. But one is to shoot. One is to think about shooting............had three for awhile but that was just silly.

As for Norinco making a Python..............:HR: What are you thinking????

Mine you if they did start making them and people enjoyed them it would only drive up the prices of the real ones..........Hmmmmmm!

I agree it is doubtful but.... they already make a copy of the S&W model 10 heavy barrel so I would never rule anything out when it comes to those guys.

Have factory, will copy.

I doubt if there would be much of a market tor Norinco revolvers.... A good 1911 is over $1000, so thats why $350 Norinco 1911 are so popular.

My geuss is that if Norinco ever designs a new type of knock of handgun, that it would be either a knock off beretta 92 or glock. Berettas are pretty expensive, and even the latest generation on glock's have really gotten expensive. Not many years ago, a G17 was $499 brand new, but now they are in $700 or more category, which is kind of ridiculous for a fisher price plastic gun.

I would buy a $359 Norinco python wheelgun if they made them, but I think thats not going to happen anytime soon.

Seriously?!? Why not buy a 686 or a GP100 and call it a day? Either one will run you $700 and you can shoot it forever.

Never really understood the point of keeping a gun in the safe because it was/is too pretty to shoot.

Unless you plan on selling it one day.

Can't believe you folks.

OP> You don't have two firearm, you have TWO statues. Mount them in locked boxes, throw the keys away, go buy some firearm, blast away. AND don't you dare start a thread about a GF that's too pretty to bang.
