Norinco "Colt" Python.......?

My Python's trigger is way way smoother than my 586. Also recoils on 357mag is much easier on the Python, probably due to its geometry . Basically they are different class. A Python cost more than twice of a 586. Since the Python, discountinued, mine became a safe queen for 16 yrs. Now I only shoot my 586.

Hammer and trigger are MIM.. Not saying their bad, just nothing to celebrate.
Yep, very true. I have a 1940 made S&W Heavy Duty in 38 Special. Smoothest N-frame I have and a nice feeling trigger, real pussycat to shoot even with +P loads. This is the same model revolver Ed McGivern used for trick shooting and Elmer Kieth and Phil Sharp shot the heck out of in Idaho in the early 1930's, that eventually lead to the development of the .357 Magnum cartridge and the Model 27 revolver.
One of the few revolvers I would gladly prefer over any Python. (the H.D.)

I own a Colt .357, sort of a Python but not really. The actual model was .357 Magnum and about 15,000 were made from 1954 to 1961. Mine is in about 80 to 90 % and is wonderful to shoot in either .357 or .38 special. It's a big beefy revolver and the action is identical to the Python's.

Notice I said shoot? Yes I shoot it! It's probably worth way more that a minty Python due to it's rarity but when something shoots this good, you just gotta shoot it!!

I have the exact same handgun and my opinion is almost the same as yours M39a2. I have somewhat differing view on it's valued price. Only because avid Colt collectors really boost the price of these Pythons due to a rabid marketplace. "Sleeper" is a very fitting term for the very decent reputation of the Colt Model .357 IMHO. Unfortuneately the Sanderson target grips that came with it, dried out and cracked. It wears rubber Hogues as of now. Some day better wooden grips will adorn it.

Cheers....

PS: Shoot it and enjoy this accurate and very very good Colt DA sixgun. But if you ever decide to sell it, don't expect even near or above Python market pricing my friend. Supply and demand determine value buddy. But that's my opinion only.........

I would like to have an Anaconda and a Python. If Uberti had them available, they would sell in North America. Quality replicas of great things are usable and desirable.

I've lusted after a Python since I was a kid, and realize that I will probably never get to shoot one, never mind own one. That said, I don't think a Norinco copy would be anything like the real thing. I just bought a new 586 last week, and that is probably as close to a Python as I will ever get. I will definately enjoy shooting the 586 for a long time to come.

You want something as good as (I think better than any Colt or S&W)ever built get a 400 dollar Ruger Sec Six.

No stupid side plates or screws to mess up ,and hand and transfer bar are way over engineered.

One of Bill Rugers best designs ever.

Please stop treating your firearms like they are pampered safe queens.

If you want to collect things start a stamp collection instead.

OMG just look at the carbon build up on the Rhino ! Ahh no its ruined !

So go to your nearest gun shop and purchase some live rounds, use them through your Pythons and then you will get a pile of these things called spent cartridges.
