Harris Bipod Swivel 6-9 inch Notched (installed)

Timney Trigger (ordered) **UPDATE 4/13/12 (arrived installed and loving it)
I could have done the trigger spring hack, but didnt feel like hacking up a firearm that could potential do harm onto others because of cost cutting methods.

Cool little build. How do you plan on mounting that but plate to your plastic stock?

Hey, either going to insert a piece of wood and sand it using the belt sander to the actual form of the rifle,
or, going to go to my local metal shop, get them to make a aluminium insert.
OR, going to take the original buttstock and cut it down and attach the new one to it somehow,

WONT know until i get it in.

Trigger just came in,
1 word, amazing
just amazing, MUCH better then the stock 6 pound trigger.

I got it down to 2 pounds and feel comfortable at that. Did some vigorous tests and no dry misfires.

Very nice stuff man. What caliber of Axis you using?
I'll be building a rig out of my .223 Axis, mostly for some 100 yard precision shooting, and maybe getting my feet wet in F class.

Also...

Nice built, I like it.

Buying a bunch of accessories and installing them isn't considered a build. And I hate to rain on anyone's parade here but since when is a basically stock OEM Savage Axis considered a "precision rifle"?

This thread is more appropriate to the hunting firearms forum than this one.

were both thinking the same thing.

no offance to the man who owns it. There good little rifles ( i own one in .308 ) but not exactly a precision rifle.

nice mods tho !

Indeed they are nice rifles. I was wondering if anyone else has problems with the bolt ejecting a spent round (Axis .223). It will eject (adequately) a spent round, but it will not throw them. I wonder if it is my rifle or a problem with the model. It has been that way since I bought it. It will barely clear the spent round beyond the chamber. Sorry to go off topic a bit!!! I like the mods BTW. I wish other manufacturers would build mods for the Axis/Edge.
