EESA Zombie Apocalypse 2012 Multigun (Update Post 31)

Free bump.
Got some more #00 8 pellet buck loaded up and ready to test next weekend.
My 590 has a fresh Vang Comp barrel.

Thinking about this match makes me feel like this guy.

No ports.
You can get it with ports or without ports.

I think I will be shooting Tactical Limited division.
CZ shadow stock
590
AR with a Mirco T1

looks good to me. Three different divisions depending on the AR sighting system so far has been good. We'll see at the two gun match as well. There seems to be a nice spread of shooters and a fairly even playing field.

I'm in as soon as you open registration to those outside of your club :)

The guys in the Multi-Gun league at my club might be interested in attending so I'll see if I can drum up some others.

What club do you belong to? What kind of 'multi-gun league' do you have?

I'm not sure if the club wants me advertising out on the internet, but we're in the eastern GTA area. We are using USPSA rules. Right now we are running handgun matches but we will also be doing Shotgun, Rifle, Precision Rifle, and Multi-Gun this year.

Our league is new this year and is club-only so far. I personally would like to open it up to outsiders at some point (particularly for Multi-Gun) but right now we're just getting started and I don't want to push the club's comfort level.

Is this like Fight Club? The first rule about Fight Club is we don't talk about Fight Club.;)

There's been hot water lately in our area with noise complaints about ranges and one of the town councilors was freaked out about the fact that people at another nearby club were firing "assault rifles" so without explicit permission to tell the whole world who we are and what we're up to, I'm not going to spill the beans.

That and right now our league is club level only so I don't want to freak out the club by having all of CGN pinging them for membership because they heard about the Multi-Gun matches on the internet. I'm hoping to open up the matches in the future but it's taken effort to get them comfortable with this much so I don't want to push their comfort level.

Sorry, nothing personal :) Just covering my ass.

What are you talking about? Registration has always been open to everyone at all of the EESA multigun events so far ...

In general yes but last I checked the website for the match registrations weren't open to outsiders yet. Maybe the website is out of date.

indeed...didn't have the full picture at our club match tonight. Now I'm just left scratching my head.

Not really sure what's unclear... but I will attempt to clarify.

We have a practical shooting league at our club. It's BRAND NEW as of this past December. We will be holding multi-gun matches of our own this summer. At this time our league is for club members only because that is what the club executive is comfortable with. I personally would like to open up our matches to non-club members at some point but that is not something I get to decide unilaterally, and trying to open up the discussion on that before we've even held our first multi-gun match would be seriously putting the cart before the horse and would probably make the executive skittish. This club has been around for decades and is only now just warming up to the idea of anything other than bullseye and trap shooting so I'm happy that they are are even allowing us to attempt this at all. This club doesn't even have a bullseye league (I know, sounds crazy, right?) so allowing practical shooting at our club at all has been a quantum leap.

Yes it is a bit lop sided to ask if some people who have taken our safety course can come play at your matches when we can't at this time reciprocate but you have to walk before you run. I would hope that you'd think it's a good thing that more people are getting into the discipline and would welcome more participants. Rome wasn't built in a day and I have to take things one step at a time at our club. If I push things too hard at my club I risk getting my own league shut down. I've seen it happen at other clubs I belong to so I don't feel I'm being over cautious.

I think the obvious answer is for your people to take a recognized holster certification course (IPSC and IDPA being obvious ones). Then you can easily go to other clubs and join in their matches including EESAs.

If that's the answer then that's absolutely fine of course. Some of us (myself included) hold Black Badges or PPC qualifications already. Our course is basically the same as the Black Badge course so it was worth asking.

It is still up to the EESA holster committee to determine.

I know that they are currently discussing your case.

It just seemed an odd request when the answer is quite easy.
