Does anyone here have any experience with SIG-Sauer SSG 3000, and how it compares to AI, and TRG-22, all chambered in .308

Cant seem to decide between the three with availability in Canada being my only consideration.

For example cant seem to find a TRG-22 in Green with a 20 inch Barrel anywhere, while http://www.tacticalimports.ca/ssg-3000-p-87.html has quite a few SIG-Sauer SSG 3000 in stock according to the website.
 
Almost had one imported out of the States a few weeks ago but decided against it as I already have numerous rifles that fit the bill.

Price was terrific at $2200 US NIB! Nice guns but barrel replacements could be a pain as the lugs lock up to recesses cut into the barrel shank. A UK company supposedly does adapters to facilitate easy barrel changes.

Stock is nice as it is made by McMillan, Mags are proprietary and likely expensive (couldn't be any worse than Sako though) Barrel contour looks a little on the trim side but all reviews I've read indicate terrific accuracy.

At $2200 -2500 plus importation I would still consider it. At the price quoted in the link you provided.... no f'n way.

Keep your eyes on Gunbroker, there was a used one listed (Exc. cond - low rnd. count) with accesories and Pelican 1750 for $1900 recently.

If I were you, get the SAKO TRG22, there are ton of accessory for sako, but they are pricy, have handle the SSG3000, a very robus rifle, very nice, also 3 bolt lug system, will cost you around 5to6K with out optic, AI AW are at the same price level as the SSG3000. there one sako TRG22 20 for sale from, very reasonable price for a 20" barrel, won't last.
 
had one sold it how dos it compare to sako trg 22 or the aw 308 ssg 3000 as good she liked it hot vaget 47gr with 168 lapuas very very accuract you will not shoot that barrel out
 
Don't think I will get a sig/sauer ssg3000 any time, Sako is much better values for the price, but the sig does have a nicer stock.
 
Look for a Sauer Hunter Target 308 rifle. They made them in the 90's, a real well made rifle. It took me 9 months to get mine from the factory. But it was well worth it, even though it cost $1400.00 with all the accessories and magazines. Some of them were military/police issue at one time.
I asked sauer why they don't make a 10 round magazine, and they said there is no demand. He told me that custom gun makers make sauer 10 round magazine in germany.
 
These were just reviewed in a US mag...they are considered top notch. US pricing-$1999, here in Can-$4,000+ ?????

hi john dunmore this is john dunmore to you are wight on had one to it was as good as sako trg 42 and aw had then to very accuract

The new SSG 3000's will retail for around $1500 USD... So probably double that price by the time some Canadian retailer decides they can give it to us in the @ss on yet another product. Rumor is that these new guns will be US manufactured as opposed to German and will have a cheap plastic stock instead of the McMillan. Regardless, they will be the best bargain out there for a quality precision rifle.

$1500 is a good price if you can get one in USD, rips out the Cheap plastic stock like(TIKKA T3) Replace one with Laminated, inlet shouldn't be too hard, and you good to go.
