To start it will depend on which division you plan to shoot in.

This is 90% personal preference. Singles are more versatile.

Make sure that whatever you get complies with game rules. IDPA rules are more strict, there are lots of threads here about selecting pouches. Spend some time digging or ask other competitors at your local club.
