I have been shooting AR style firearms for a few years now and have always wanted to build my own. Finally got the financial means to attempt it and it started as a semi-budget build and I think I kept it pretty inexpensive!

Here are the stats:

-10.5" LMT M4 Barrel w/ A2 Front Sight (looked everywhere for a quality barrel with A2 FSP. Really love the profile.
-Daniel Defence F/A Bolt Carrier
-Daniel Defence Upper Reciever
-MagPul MOE Handguard
-Palmetto State Armories Lower Reciever
-RRA Lower Parts Kit w/ Ergo Grip
-PWS Ehanced Buffer Tube Mil-Spec
-Spike's Tactical Melonited Carbine Gas Tube
-BCM Gunfighter Charging handle
-MagPul MOE Trigger Guard
-Magpul CTR Stock

Total with shipping and taxes and all small parts was $1335. How did I do in terms of value? Took it out today and it worked flawlessly. Loved it. Just waiting on a Magpul rear sight and a muzzle break I purchased (just have a birdcage on from another rifle). Here are some pictures!

Also, the gun functioned fine at the range today but I'm not sure if the handguard/delta ring/spring look right. You can't see the spring on another AR I have and I was just concerned if it is correct. Attached below is a picture of what I mean:

How much do they go for new and what a lightly used one should be? I have a chance to buy one.

Edit sorry didn't mean to hi jack the thread....

One what? There are a kazillion different brands and/or configurations. It's like Lego for men.

Oh, Sparc? Anywhere from $140 to $200+ new, look around lots of dealers have them. I forget where I saw it cheapest.

Excellent job, I love the looks of it as well. I paid $1300 for my NEA with the strikefire, but no mag. I would like to build one like this, because you can customize every part of it to your tastes. Nice:rockOn:

Nice!

I'm pretty new to the shooting sports, but thanks to work I've been (not often enough!) shooting AR-15s (in the C-7 incarnation) for a little over 5 years. If I'm not mistaken that weld spring is normally on the inside of the delta ring. It's possible that the fitment is different with your DD upper though. I'd say if it holds the delta ring forward to keep the handguards on, and does so reliably, it's probably not an issue.

Your build looks fantastic , and at that price gives me hope that I'll be able to put one of my own together sooner than I'd planned. Thanks for the pics!
