Bought a model 100 a while back and just got around to trying it. Would not fire, so while kicking myself in the butt for buying it without trying it (I bought it off Gunbroker) I disassembled it and found the firing pin spring to be binding, not allowing the pin to contact the primer at all. Reversed the spring and reassembled the rifle. Works perfectly now. I guess that was the reason for no reserve on the auction and why I got it so cheap. Now I have a rifle that will fire four rounds of 308 as fast as I can pull the trigger but doubt that I will ever use it to hunt, cause I'm really a bolt gun guy. Paid about $400 for it. Maybe I can make a bit of money if I sell it. Anyone know what a nice 100 with a period 4 power Weaver scope mounted on a period tip off would be worth, now that it works as advertised?
