Has anybody tried the ejector mod that throws rounds sideways instead of up and over. Looks too good to be true, such a small amount of grinding but...cant put metal back if it doesnt work. So has anybody got any good news about this..Fed up with looking all over the place for cases.
 
The Mod works !
I put a full size leupold scope on my sks and ground / filed the radius rear ejection port to a square 90 degrees and now she flings the shells out to the side just like an AR-15.

my scope has no dings in it and i don't need one of those sheet metal cover plates.

The forward ejection is caused by the push/pull design of the extractor and ejector. The casing is pulled back until it hits the ejector and because the extractor has the give to it, it forces the casing forward. I suppose you could rig up some sort of deflector infront of the ejection window but they arent flying very far forward
 
Awesome !! Thanks for the input guys :) Gonna be doing that tomorrow.Just seemed to simple eh God Bless the Russians and their "backward thinking technology".
