So I'd first like to thank Dustin and everyone at Alberta Tactical Rifles. I've been talking to him for awhile now, since last summer and they've built me my first custom rifle. He was great to deal with and a huge help through everything! I will make sure to give them my business again. I'm already dreaming up another project. haha

As for my rifle I got

-Trued up Rem 700 action in 300 WM
-Black McMillan M40A1 stock with the integral cheekpiece, spacer system and flush cups
-ATRS bottom metal
-Jewel trigger
-26" Rock Creek 5R barrel with 700p contour
-ATRS picatinny rail
-ATRS tactical bolt knob
-microslicked bolt

The barrel, action, picatinny rail, bolt knob and bolt shroud will be cerakoted FDE and everything else will be black.

Should look pretty good.

Here be some pics!!!

She came in today! Here are some pics. Enjoy! My gf is pissed right now because i'm consumed with this as i'm excited. hahaha

Wel, can't say is all lost, at lease you got a rifle that you like and cherish, the long run is still much cheaper than going out with a supermodel or a very pretty girl who want a BOOB job, and you ending up paying for it!
good luck on your shooting young man!

For a trued M700 action build, I think you made a typo? I fixed it for ya !

I dont understand how it could of been much cheaper after adding everything up. I did find a stiller action after the fact for 200$ more, i should of used but it was to late.

Enlighten me please.

custom build @ 5000 should be alright with new barrel, stock, trig and so on.
hope you find a good scope on her to do some Long range shootin!
money dont seem to matter when you want to build something for own and it does feel bad thinking "oh damn i just spent $5000 on a rifle without a scope" but on the other side you are still damn proud of your self for gettin one!
i went through that phase a month ago spending $9000 on a rifle with scope but only few seconds of regret and still lovin every bit of it!
hope you find ther perfect load for her and have a nice conversation piece!

If you're happy, that is all that matters. I built a rifle very similar to yours in 338 Lapua with McM A5 and HS precison DBM, and total cost was $2964. Also, since you asked, see McMillan builds here:

Just saying...

There was more work then just that done.
cerakote
microslicked bold body
blank barrel and machine time
picatinny rail
tactical bolt knob
drag bag

there is no doubt that i could have done things different and saved a bit of money. I could of gotten everything myself and send it to the gunsmith. shopped around for the "BEST" deals. Although it would take more time.

it was my first build, gotta start somewhere and somehow right?

respectfully
ryan
