Hey guys, I just picked up my first Mini (181 series) last night, and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for getting some parts for it. I did a search on, and didn't come up with any results.

I'm interested in some sort of barrel stabilizer like the Accutstrut, or anything similar that works, does anyone know of a retailer I can order one from?

Also looking for a scope mount, any suggestions are welcome. From the bit of research I have done, people seem to recommend the S&K mount. I'm not sure if there are any dealers that carry S&K? I noticed Weaver makes a mount that looks similar (48644), but I can't find any reviews on it, anyone have any opinions or reviews?

I have been searching for the same thing and haven't found anyone to ship the accutstrut or similar product to Canada either so I'm making my own. It will cost me about $30 to build it.

I have ordered factory ruger parts from Brownells without issue, they also stock some scope mounts for the mini and will ship some styles up. I'm waiting on a quote for one myself (stock #957-095-014wb) if you want to look it up.

Also for any information you can imagine about the mini 14/30 head over to the "PerfectUnion" website.

What kind of materials are you making yours out of? I've seen a few on this site, but can't find any info on how people managed to get them.

So you have a new Mini with the slots machined in the receiver? Brownells has the S&K and the Weaver models, so I could always order through them I suppose.

I've ordered some 5/8" OD stainless tubing 0.065 wall thickness and some universal fit barrel mounts/clamps.
Planning on cutting the pipe about 6" long and fitting it against the gas block cutting a grove in the pipe, not sure if I'm going to use set screws to secure it to the block or not.
Haven't figured out what I'm doing to plug the open end towards the muzzle yet but I'm not finished all my research.

I have the 580 series mini with the integrated bases. Sorry didn't notice yours needed the side mount. But as you noticed brownells has the side mounts as well

Hmmm I may just do this as well. Let me know how your project goes!

I'm a little reluctant to try the side mounts, they seem to get very mixed reviews.

Side mounts and clamp-ons deserve mixed reviews. Stability and maintenance of zero are issues. There is also a bit of a problem with the hammering action of the slide being hard on scopes. When Ruger started incorporating scope bases on the receivers, they changed the action, incorporating a buffer function.
There are drill and tap top mounts, which are much more stable than the clamp-ons, but drilling and tapping Mini receivers can be a bear, and there is still the issue of shock to the scope.
