What are the different sections doing with regard to making sure that people are appropriately classed in Classic Division? I know we have a suggestion that is being put before the BoD in BC that is aligned with our own classification system, but as most other provinces do something different with their classification system, I'm curious how it's being handled outside of BC.

Ontario classification is based on the pre-determined hit factors (much like USPSA classification) and it been decided to use the same HHFs as for the Standard division. So, now members just have to shoot 4 classifier stages to get classification in Classic division.

Curious how this system works.

Does this mean your classification is based on your hit factors regardless of whether or not a GM is present at a match?

Or is it based solely on HF's achieved on specified classifier stages?

A 100% hit factor had been identified for number of classifier stages.

Selected Level III matches are used as additional classifiers if they allow to measure competitor's performance in given division (i.e. when M and GM class competitors shoot match at their skill level). In this case, the match percentage in division will be multiplied by the match top competitor's current class percentage in this division. For example, if Jim, 90% Open M class, won the match in Open division, the classifier percentage for other Open division competitors will be fraction of 90% based on the match results.

That sounds to me the same as the system we have here.

If no GM is present is it still possible for shooters to advance in Class?

John

Based on our conversation in Terrace and how well you shot in Classic div, also wondering how and where you will class.
It is an interesting question.

Yeah its kind of a weird situation with no recognized GM's in CD. I have shot 4 qualifiers in CD so far and we have been taking a pretty heavy hit on our scores because there are no GM's.

Congrats on your win by the way!! Nice shooting :)

It won't matter if classifier stages are shot without GMs. But once there are GMs or Ms, you can also take in big matches as classifiers.
