1952 russian sks (safety)

hey guntutz

Just bought my first sks yesterday first thing i noticed when i took it out of the box is when i moved the safety it didn't click into place (really not a big deal. it still works fine) but i took the trigger assembly off and compared it to my buddys (who also just bought one) and it appears mine was completely missing this little fork that applies pressure to the little mechanism. i purchased it a lebarons on woodbine and immediately noticed their all sales final thing. just wondering do you think they would do anything for me? can i purchase this piece somewhere? again not to big of a deal just curious.

Some Sks's were refurbed with the safety spring and some weren't, I guess they got lazy at times. My '53 has it and my '51 don't, no big deal, it still works. Get in touch with the seller and see if they'll help you, if they are worth their salt I would say they will. Good luck and happy shooting.

Its normal for a 1952, my 52 is a non refurbed one and dont have the U shaped spring also my unissued,non refurb 53 dont have the spring either.

and sorry (Lyallpeder) no can do on the pics as both rifles are currently locked up in my buddys safe

n. Trigger group.
-Early trigger group. 1949 - part1952. No trigger arm mount, no spring for safety lever and no rise between the trigger guard and the mag catch(below pic, top).
-Late trigger group. Part1952 - 1956. Has trigger arm mount (pen pointing), spring safety lever and a raised between the trigger guard and the mag catch (bottom).
