It's for if you don't want your real name showing up in match results, etc. Think of it as your IPSC "handle", kind of like your CGN login name.

Alias is your ipsc identifier. You would register your alias, and if you shoot ICS stages with IPSC AB, it can be submitted for classification at the international (IPSC) level.

Otherwise you will have a standing in AB that can be translated within Canada, but not internationally.

It is never been used that way. The only thing it is used for is the ICS classification at ipsc.org, which is currently somewhat obsolete.

It's been a while... I do remember being called to the line with my alias before but I can't remember whether it carried over into the posted match results or not. You're probably right.

I had forgotten about it being needed for ICS. Thanks for the correction.
