Hi guys, a few days ago I went to lever arms with cousin to buy 2 Russian sks's we walked in, 3 staff members stated at us for about 5 secs. I had to say "can someone help us" 1 guy says ok, a second guy says "hey we close in ten mins" I'm like ok, so does that mean I can't buy anything? He blabbers something. In all honesty I know what prejudice and racism feels like, I've lived with it my whole life. Bottom line, NO sks, extremely poor customer service, I felt like they were being racist. Anyone else have this experience with lever arms?

Yep. Generally, the gun business is full of people with attitudes. Lever Arms is like going to the soup nazi in Seinfeld. Make your order, hand over the cash, step to the right. Ah well, I don't go there for friends, frankly, I've yet to find a good shop out this way, I could tell a story or two about a few... but I'm trying to cut down on my thread hijacking.
honestly, no matter how much i like my job, when someone comes and asks for something complicated (like the purchase of a new gun) 10 mins before close, i always get kinda annoyed. Nothing personal on my part.
Its just that i dont make the best wage (and probably neither do the guys working at lever arms) and having to work even 5 minutes longer after your supposed to be done just plain sucks.
Is it right? Who knows. I highly suspect it was 'racism' as opposed to just plain old 'damn, i was supposed to go home in 10 minutes'.

Im my opinion, it's pretty low to come on here and accuse Lever of being racist based on a vague feeling you had.

Yeah,could be, I hate that too. That, and the "I knew for 6 months that I should do something, but now I'm on my way out of town, so it's an emergency."
I wish I was a person of colour, because when people are rude to me, they just don't like me, that, or I'm being an idiot.
I never really had a problem with Lever Arms .. They have good surplus ammo and surplus gun deals .. good norinco deals also. but all other stuff is a bit overpriced .. One or two of the guys may come off as rude a bit but i think its cause they get lots of yahoo non PAL holder wanabe gangsters that just come in off the street to look at guns like its a free gallery. And dont forget they have been robbed at gunpoint twice ..I actually find a few of the guys at Reliable Gun to be complete Aholes .. every shop has its dicks

Might have been poor customer service, because they were basically telling you to hurry up and buy or leave, as they were closing. I doubt it was racism. Unless you are a white guy. White people seem to be the group most heavily discriminated against in the lower mainland.
+1, I agree. I used to work at a sporting goods store (Gone Fishin). It would drive me nuts when people would walk in 10 until closing and expect to purchase a rifle, do the transfer on line, mount a scope and boar sight it.
