Remington 750 for a DMR Build?

Hey fellas.

So I figured I'd dabble in precision rifles with a DMR build.

What are the thoughts on using a Remington 750 for this task?

Why I am thinking of a 750?
*Because I don't want to be bothered with the common issues and wrench time involved when taking on a Norc/Poly M14.
*Semi Auto is king
*Available in a 308 carbine version- perfect for a DMR
*Is just the right amount of black rifle, without being restricted or costing 3 arms, a leg, and a goat to buy.

You could even adapt a pistol gripped shotgun buttstock for greater tactikewlness. Or an adapter with a M4 stock. Muzzle could be fitted with a brake. Rails could blossom.
Less availability, but Remington did make a .308 police carbine. And there is always the 7615 .223, which can use 10 round magazines.
Good low to medium power scope would work.
Given up on the F Class project?

Kinda sorta. I have my Savage Axis 223 I'm going to use to test the waters on that. At the same time, I do want a one-off precision project, and I accidentally stumbled upon the DMR idea while reading some interesting threads here.

As for the stocks: Sources tell me the 750 accepts the same stocks as the 870, correct?

I believe so. A Choate folder intended for the 870 will fit a 760.
Of the Remington semi auto and pump action hunting rifles, the pumps tend to have a better reputation for accuracy and reliability.

Sort of, If I'm not mistaken it's stuff for the 20 Gauge that fits. Pretty much the same stuff is available, you just don't tend to find it on the shelf. For the money your just as well off with and M-305. Mine looks like it will shoot under 2 MOA (no scope yet so can't say for sure, but well under I think). I wouldn't expect any better from the 750. That said, I like the idea. I say go for it, something different is always good.
