You should be focused on sight alignment/sight picture, trigger squeeze and follow through, not the noise generated by the spring. To each their own I guess.

If the noise of the spring was bothering him, wouldn't reducing it help him do what you suggest?
Besides, most people like feel of a smooth gun...
It seems simple to me. One less thing in my bubble is one less thing to exclude from my bubble while shooting.
