Just got a few parts from Cedar Valley Hunting for my CZ 85 Combat. Nice guy to deal with. 11 lb Recoil Spring, Extended Firing Pin and spring, 13 lb mainspring. I can feel a huge improvement in the trigger pull. My only concern is, the reduced power recoil spring is longer than the factory spring. Installed, it binds and will not allow the slide to rack. Any experience on this type of spring? It was suppose to fit a CZ 75/85/SP01. A few sites suggests cutting on older CZ 75 models but not on the 85. CZ 75 and 85 shares the same platform. An SPO1 has a slightly different frame. I was thinking of cutting a coil or a few. But this is not reversible. Any suggestion/s? :)

Cut the new spring so that it's 1/2" longer than original.

I would love to see the difference with the upgraded springs. I was thinking about doing the same thing in my 85 Combat. Ambishooter, any chance you are a member at Orono? I would love to do a side by side comparisson with a stock pistol and your upgraded one. Keep up posted on how the upgrade works out for you!

Cheers,

I'm with a Toronto club. I will definitely post results as soon as I get a chance.

Listen to CeeZer, he knows CZ 75s from the inside out :)

I am open to that option. I just want to test fire what I have installed.

@ CeeZer - How do I remove the adjustable rear sight on my Cz 85 Combat? I do not see any set screw. I am thinking of replacing this with a tactical rear sight or a better adjustable rear sight. Is this a Novak cut sight? Any vendor locally?

Order the Competition rear sight from CZ Custom. You will like it a lot.

Take care

The 11# spring is longer than the stock spring, nothing abnormal there. Is the guide rod fully inserted because it is suppose to fit without having to cut some coils since it will reduced to the equivalent of a weaker spring ?

I'm not knowledgeable on CZs, what is the regular strenght of the spring?
Just curious...glocks and 1911 factory springs run in the #16

The Plastic/polymer guide rod is fully inserted. I guess it will take a while for the spring to seat against the front of the slide and the guide rod.
