Trigger pins walking out, options to solve?

I ran into a problem with my trigger pin (the lower pin, for the trigger, not the upper one for the hammer) walking out of my AR yesterday. That caused a pretty complete malfunction that had me scratching my head for a while to fix.

Strangely enough the rifle will not fire when the trigger pin backs out, and it binds the bolt to the rear (semi auto bolt carrier) so you can't open the action.

Anyway, I solved it and was able to continue but I don't want to have to worry about it any more

What are my options? I've thought of a view but I am not sure if they are are doable.

1) Put electrical tape over the pin holes on the receiver to retain the pins
2) Blue locktite on the ends of the pins in the receiver
3) Put in KNS anti-rotation pins (If I can find somebody with some in stock)
4) Buy a Daniel Defense rifle (or insert Teir 1 manufacturer) Thanks much to my friend Adam for suggesting that cost effective option :D

I'm all about effective solutions with a budget price tag associated so option 4 is included for humor only.

How about my first three? Will any solve the problem? Will they cause others?

Are there other options?

Thanks for the tip AGAIN!!!!!!!!

The little angle that told the solution to my trigger problem saved me $1,500.00. Oh crap, he'll probably want a cut.

Note: SMALL down side, putting the hammer spring in correctly increased the tension and I am up to 8 lbs total trigger pull. Oh well, if I shoot it like it is, I'll totally get used to it and will have NO problem with making the 2.5 Kg minimum for NSCC.

No time more time to waste screwing with equipment....it's time to put rounds down range. SR#1 May 12-13. Can't wait.

I have friends like that! Everytime I say I am going to the range, they invite themselves along. Little bastards have yet to pay for ammo... And between the two of them they have probably fired off over $500 in ammo...

I took three guys who make "movies" out too the range so that they could get some real world experience with recoil, blast and the functioning of firearms. They spent approx: $400 in 308, $350 in 7.62x39, $400 in 9mm and probably over $100 in .22lr. They offered me $50 to help out with the ammo cost :rolleyes:

You sir, are a better man than I. If they make movies, they have money to burn. The $500~ i have spent has been over a few years, so the cost isn't. as hard to swallow as the $1100 (1250-150) you had to endure.

Then you gotta factor in the time and materials to clean the rifles too.

And yeah, my friends can be moochs.

I spent some time in the Army with one of them. They make short movies, as in no money, and had no idea what they were "spending".

One has gone for their PAL and the other two are working on it, so I guess the expense was not a waste.

They sure got an education in firearm cleaning and maintenance after as I wasn't cleaning everything myself. The CLP was donated and so were the cleaning patches so that wasn't too bad.

Just say NO!
I let people come shoot for free once then they have to pay. I tend to limit my shooting to going with people who also bring rifles and pistols so we trade and I use their ammo while they use mine. Doesn't always come out even when the 338 Lapua comes with me but at least I'm shooting their guns while they are blasting mine so I say close enough.
