My 597 in camo, nothing fancy but its a nice little gun.So far i polished the factory mag inside and out with the bronze dremel brush and it made a big difference, i also cut a little off the bottom of the mag follower to make loading that 10th round easier.
Its due for a cleaning and some upgrades.

I went out Saturday to buy a gun to celebrate the end of the LGR and found this Marlin 983 at WSS in Calgary. The manager said they had bought up the last of the 9 series Marlins ffrom their distributor. They had seven 983T's with the synthetic stock and two 983's with wood stocks and all at great prices so I bought the wood stock model. I already have a Marlin 81TS in .22LR so it only makes sense to add the .22WMR to the collection. It shoots very straight with the iron sights but I've got a scope and rings ordered, then I'll be able to tell how accurate it really is.

Thanks! Did it myself just a couple weeks ago. I like the look of scope rail on yours. The JD 60 is more or less a conversation piece, did the paint and stuff myself and made my own bolt knob out of the butt end of a deer antler.

Dlask flat top receiver
Dlask 16.5" .920 threaded barrel with ar15 "birdcage flash hider (thread protector)
Hogue rubber OM stock
Blackened bolt
PC extractor
PC hammer and sear
DIY polished bolt and internals
Tuffer buffer
Tasco 2.5 - 10 x 42mm on weaver low rings with BC caps
Shooters ridge pull mag release (which i love!), and 6-9" bipod
And lots of mags
Next and final piece is a Picatiny rail from Dlask.

What sun shade did you use and what height rings? Medium/Tall?

Savage 93 in .17HMR. Scope is Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x50. Still waiting on my Burris Signature Zee rings and Boyd's Varmint thumbhole stock and bottom metal to finish it up. This one's on the never sell list.
