Prince George Rod and Gun will be holding its Qualifiers on June 2-3 this year. Again at the blackwater range.

Thanks for those who have signed up already. Stages are almost done and will be up soon.

Registration http://www.ipscbc.com/match/PG-Jun2&3reg.pdf

Thanks again

FYI the registration linked on the IPSC BC website does not list Classic as an option :-(

As I plan to shoot CD this year and I know there is a lot of interest in this division perhaps this should be sorted out?

John

Whats the story with the black water range? my understanding is that it was a long range only open for competition.

the ipsc bays have long been open for use and approved. We just got CFO approval on the 1000m range and should be officially opening this summer.

It was supposed to be changed, classic is of course available. The current reg form lists "other" so if anyone is shooting classic please write that in the space.

ok, I was just unclear because everytime I rode blackwater on my motorcycle, or went to play and lynx lake I would stop and check, find the gate locked and the sign read something like open for competition use only. What is the clubs plan? move the electric gate from hartman road and close that site down? There are a few of us local guys (who shoot often but not competitively) speculating but havent really gotten a clear answer.

The blackwater range has been open only for matches or special events because it has not been ready, or setup for general membership access. Over the past several years there has been work being done by contractors on site, also safety measures and procedures had to be built, installed and or developed prior to opening. The IPSC facility has been the only range approved to shoot at, but access to other areas was difficult or impossible to police. Gates and signage have been built and installed, safety guidelines and rules have been developed and major work projects are mostly finished. We are waiting for the final approval to come through on the 1000 m and black powder ranges, at which time the Blackwater facility will then be open to the general membership. There will also be sporting clays and silhouette ranges built or more depending on finaces and help. Up to this point, we have had limited money and only about 2% of the membership helping.

You are all welcome to attend club meetings first Monday of the month at Hartmann clubhouse also!

There are no plans to close the existing Hartman road range. There is no room to expand this range and with the city growing and getting closer to the range acquiring more land is unlikely. Our lease is expiring in 2014 and the club is actively working to renew this, but there is no guarantee that we will be successful.
The new facility has 750 acres of land on a 30 year lease with a large safety buffer behind us. It has taken this long to develop because of the limited funds and help. Once this range is open to the general membership, hopefully the energy will be renewed by new people becoming involved.

If you,or any member, have any questions about the club. All you need to do is either attend a monthly meeting of send an email to the club via the website and I can answer it or direct it to someone who can.

cheers :)
