So I've decided to tentatively begin to pull the trigger on a DM/Precision AR15 build. But I need help: I can't decide. They both fit my needs/wants, and they both seem to be decent rifles. What's the collective opinion of the B&G Rifles club?

The builds?

Option 1: NEA Complete Lower/ NEA DMR 18" Barrel Upper W/O BCG / DMPS Matte Black BCG/ Vortex Viper PST 6-24x30

or

Option 2: Remington R15 (to be painted to black)/ Vortex Viper PST 6-24x30

Ok- so its not too much of a build, but it is to me, since I already have pre-planned purchasing phases. Also- the scope is subject to change.

You already have a NEA carbine. Just get a second upper with a quality rifle barrel, and install a quality scope. You aren't going to be shooting two ARs at the same time, so a second upper will save you money.

That did cross my mind, but I think I'd want a separate unit away from my 10.5 NEA.
Also- what self respecting Black and Green Rifle addict has only ONE AR?

EDIT: Also- by switching out uppers- wouldn't your optics loose zero?

Don't sweat it. I prefer dedicated lowers to utilize different stocks, buffers and triggers depending on the upper.

And as it turns out (didn't notice it until now, when I was drooling over the 18" DMR upper at SFRC) that the NEA upper is on pre-sale.

Seeing as phase one was originally the lower and the DMPS BCG, I might jump on that. From there I can look around for some tightly twisted (that doesn't sound right) 5.56 uppers.
Also, with the dedicated lower, I suppose I could also drop in a RRA 2 stage trigger and a Magpul Precision Stock

You certainly could. If you get a 2-stage trigger, go Geissele. UBR is also a good choice, and Magpul has the new STR and ACL-S stocks as well.

You sir are very convincing- when my wallet starts feeling slim again, I'll know who to blame. :p

Just ordered the NEA lower, DMPS BCG and 4 LAR mags from SFRC, because no AR enthusiast should be without LAR10 mags :D
