Hello I have a Ruger 10/22 I'm selling to a friend but I'm not good with valuations. Looking for some input, I want to gets what fair. Give him a good deal and not rip each other off.

1 year old 1022 synthetic stock stainless barrel paid 299 at a local gun shop
Simmons scope paid 45+shipping from cabelas
Gun case 20
Box of ammo 23
25 round mag 25

All together I paid about 460 with tax
Everything is in like new condition probably about 700 or so rounds have gone through the gun

Think 300 is a fair deal?

Whaaa?
And what is EE? Sorry

everyone is making cracks about CGN's equipment exchange section, where "like new" rifles or "brand new in box with only 400 rounds fired" go for sometimes 10-15% more than the new cost because the owner slapped a sh*tty ncstar scope on it and believes it's held ALL and MORE of it's value due to the fact that he cleaned it twice and spent all that hard hour mounting a quick detach scope.

$250-300 sounds like a fair deal. Maybe have him toss in a case of beer.

I'd say that's a fair deal...all the commenters saying you could put it on the EE for more are speaking the truth, but no one will buy it for what you paid. It's common to see used guns selling for new prices on there.

I work in retail in a business where we commonly take trade ins. There is a general rule for depreciation on items in the first year and an item will usually depreciate by 25-30 % in the first year and then depending on what it is depreciates by 5-10% for every year after that until it bottoms out a minimum price that you could get for it. Everybody has their own opinions on what their stuff is worth and can get a little ridiculous for what they want for it but it all comes down to people buying used items want it at a used price. Based on the price you say you originally paid for it and that standard depreciation rule and a before tax price (I am in Ontario so I took 13% off the top) you would be looking at a re-sale price of $285-$305 so yes $300 is fair. I would not want to pay more than that myself.

Hope this helps you out.
