Remington 700 mag to floorplate conversion

Gunnrunner, almost all conversions of this manner are guys looking to go the other way. I'd bet if you advertised here (not sure which forum) you'd get 1/2 doz takers for a trade of parts. This has to include stocks as they are also different. Just a thought.

Check the EE or put an ad in for the floorplate and spring, follower. As the DM actions have no feedrails, you will need to modify the DM (take the bottom off) and use it as your mag box. The DM has the feed rails on the top, without these, your action will not hold the cartridges in and they will just keep popping out.

The easiest and cheapest way would be to trade the rifle for a bdl version.

Factory 700 DM actions can not be used with a regular non removable magazine and floor plate. The actions have no retaining feed rails, they were removed to work with the factory detachable magazines.

oops... slow typing = double posting of above info
