After only two sessions at the range with my new GP100, it quickly became my number one gun to shoot. It beat out the xd9, Beretta 92fs and the .22 gsg1911. Something about a revolver...almost as if your balls grow bigger the instance you grip a .357 mag lol (not that they were small before) lol

I constantly outshot my expensive semi autos with even the most generic and worn Smith & Wessons in my collection. Sold all my pistols to invest in revolvers, and haven't regretted it yet.

Yes. I keep a Hi-Power for sentimental reasons and in certain situations it would be the best choice, but in practise if I take handguns out to shoot, it's just shooting on a range, and I tend to prefer my S&W K in 22rf, my Redhawk or my Webley MkVI.

oh yeah, I'm lovin the wheelguns. You're right, they do somehow just seem 'manlier' than pistols; maybe they just evoke a dirty-harry-esque aura. I don't know, but they're fun. Accurate, reliable, and powerful; fun all around.

Now you need a .44

I'm just getting back into shooting after a few years off so I don't have as many handguns as I used to (working on it thought! :)). Right now my favourite handgun to shoot is my S&W 586. I sold it to a friend about 18 or so years ago and just recently bought it back. I like the weight of the gun and the trigger and action is so buttery smooth it brings a tear to my eye....I mean makes my ball sack swell!! :)

I had to force myself to take my 9mm to the range again after shooting the GP100 for a while. The difference in my accuracy was so huge that I started to resent my poor little SR-9 for my own crappy form.

revolvers all the way - down with bottom feeders.

In all seriousness my favouite hand gun of all time is a k-frame smith
second l frame smith
third n frame smith
get the picture

Try a .44 Mag next, you will feel like Chuck Norris. ;):D

I agree on the wheel guns, I love shooting my Redhawk. With light loads it is so accurate it makes me look good.

I only have one revolver....Ruger Redhawk 4.2" .44magnum.
I usually shoot it last after my 9mm and .45ACP semis. 10-15 rounds of Remington UMC 180gr .44magnums through the revolver to finish off my range session really puts a smile on my face!
Talk about making your sack swell.....

I bought a 686 a couple of months ago. As for future handgun purchases, semi-autos have fallen right off the radar. Never say never, I know, but right now I have wheel-gun love going on.

When I first started shooting I was anti revolver. But now my GP100 and 460v come out every time I go to the range. The 460 can get pricey to shoot pretty quick but it's hella fun to shoot and a great way to make range buddies.

I have had a revolver since I started shooting, the first picture is of the bench at the range with a selection of guns. From left to right:

1847 Colt Walker .44 cal (reproduction) weighs 4.5 pounds and was the most powerful production handgun until 1934 when the .357 Magnum was introduced. With 60 grains of black powder it is still equal to a .357 Magnum with a 4 inch barrel.

1873 Colt Single Action Army .45 Colt the gun that "Won the West" (reproduction).

1911 Colt .45ACP ( original made 1917 ) the legend lives on....

And here are a few more oldies but goodies:

I like my wheel guns better than my semis at the range (though I dare say that my CZ85 Combat currently might have an edge on my revolvers in the accuracy department... when I'm shooting them anyway).

I like my semis better than my wheel guns when I'm back at home and the solvent and patches are out...

I wouldn't change a thing :)

In the second picture all of the guns are black powder and they are a chore to clean for sure but that just extends the shooting experience well into the evening.:D
I am not trying to hijack the thread but thought you might like to see where wheel guns came from, my "newest" one is a model 1873.

Love the Navy, if I had the patience for cap & ball, that would be the S/A gun for me. Guess there's also the R&M conversion reproductions, but the ramrod completes the look.

If you feel like Chuck Norris holding a .44 Mag, you might feel like if Chuck Norris was Superman's long lost brother from Krypton if you picked up a .500 Mag
