New Israeli double barrel gun

Apparently the Israelis are experimenting with a combat rifle with two barrels.
Not much info yet, but interesting.

Well, really all they need to do is drive a bunch of self tapping screws into a crudely cut piece of plate steel connecting two armalite handguards. Because that would be the best thing going since sliced bread came in plastic bags.

Kind of like the abomination that was the taser mounted to the Saiga.

Why not just create a 2 shot burst fire?

Because, the USA has also been working on something that would make burst shots faster. Multiple shots, but only the kick of one. 2 shots at once from 2 barrels fits that bill, and what if this does have 2 shot burst mode? 4 rounds almost simultaneously screaming down range, sure gives me chills. Then consider if they managed a way to use hi cap magazines that fed to both barrels, instead of 2 magazines. If it was designed to alternate between barrels every shot, in theory you could shoot longer before the heat of the barrel adversely affected accuracy (think mini gun).

Yeah, except the AN94 is ridiculously complicated and not very reliable. Double barrel is a simply, robust, and cheap way to get more lead on target. Super fast burst mechanisms overly complicate the firearm.
