CCI Quiet .22 ammo HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

The quietest .22 ammo from CCI I ever used was the .22 cb long. 800 fps or so. You can hear the firing pin slam down and the bullet smack into the target. No supersonic crack. Try wholesale sports or cabelas or any gun shop where .22 ammo is in stock. You never know, you may get lucky locally.
 
I havent seen it anyplace in Saskatoon. Not easy to find cci ammo here. Saskatoon gunworks carries cci but havent seen any 22 ammo there(just hummer) and preston crossing canadian tire has cci 22 ammo sometimes. I dont go to the west side ct because last time I tried to buy ammo there thye wanted to write down my pal# and address in the binder under the counter
 
Canadian tire and the local gunshop carry it here, not sure about where you are.
There are two kinds:
CCI CB short or long(NOT long rifle) with a velocity of 710fps.
Remington makes a hollow point called the CBee 22 which shoots at 740fps.

CCI came out with a new .22 round (CCI Quiet -22) that's going 710 fps and is supposed to be just as quiet as a pellet gun. That's what I'm trying to find.

I friend gave me a box to try. CZ 452 did not group well. Ruger 77/22 shot a one hole group at 25ymtrs. POI at 25 mtrs was 3 1/2" lower than SK ammo. The sound is not as quiet as a pellet rifle, but definately a lower db than standard velocity 40gr. rounds.

A device designed or intended to reduce the sound of a gunshot. Sound like a prohibited device to me. If this ammo is allowed into the country it will really put the lie to the law prohibiting silencers.
 
That makes about as much sense as calling pellets from a firearm class pellet guns in the same league as silencers.

Call Gone Fishin in Nanaimo BC they have some in stock.

Suputin you can't be serious??? This is not any sort of external noise reducing device. No need to totally misinterpret the laws of the land, introducing unnecessary fears to the shooting brotherhood.

I am totally serious. The law states "a device designed or intended" to reduce the sound of a shot. Thats it.

Ammo specifically marketed as being "quiet" certainly falls within the letter of the law. This is the problem when idiots who know nothing about the subject write the laws.

If we can show that the law is ridiculous in its scope and potential for misuse then maybe we can get it repealed or changed.

At this time ammo is not considered to fall within the law but there is no reason a crusading cop or judge couldn't change that.

Have you ever looked at the box from the CB's that have been sold here forever? How about the Rem CeeBees?
