Thinking about a .17 remington. Does anyone still make these? I would also consider a ,17 remington fireball but i would really like a wood stocked rifle and from what i see remington doesn't off that? Any Idea's?

If you want to step up a bit in quality take a look at the Cooper line of rifles. I have one in 17FB and really like it.

Cooper would be your best choice and maybe your only choice if you want a new rifle. FS

new 17

The new 17 Hornady hornet is getting good reviews from many of the small caliber folks over at saubier.com, great forum for small calibers.
Nothing wrong with savage rifle in center fire, their rimfire seem fairly pedestrian to me. FS

You could convert a Savage or stevens with a higher end custom barrel. i've been thinking of getting back into the .17 remington game that way. Awesome cartridge! Apparently Pacnor barrels are really excellent for the .17 cal hole.
