My nephews are loving my ar but due to bs rules i cant use it in my yard. So i want something cool for them to play with when they come out to the far
I have a savage 64 semi auto .22 but they think its boring. So i was trying to decide between a sr22 or buying a 10/22 and stuffing it in a marauder kit. So what do you guys think would be a better option?

If you own a 10/22 already, the Marauder stock will be about 230.00ish. If you don't own a 10/22, get the SR-22. The price is about the same by the time u buy a gun and a stock as the SR-22 off the shelf. The SR-22 is almost all aluminum and the adjustable stock makes it very comfy for all sizes of people. The Marauder is non adjustable.

You'll need an optic with the SR-22 whereas (IIRC) the Marauder comes with built-in "irons", so don't forget to account for that when weighing the comparative build budgets.

Either way i planned on a cheaper red dot or maybe pull the aimpoint off my shotgun. Out of the two guns which one feels better in the hands? I held that mossberg abortion of a tactical .22 and it felt like cheap plastic.

Get the SR22...its not plastic and if you want you can put almost any AR accessory on it. :D... And if the nephews like the AR you have, the marauder just isnt quite the same..Also +1 on the adjustability of the but stock.. Go with the SR and you wont be disappointed.

+1 on the sr-22. I have one myself and love it! I also like how there are tons of goodies you can buy for it to give it a distinct look. Here is a pic of mine:

Lol, most completed Marauders on the EE have been up for sale for the same price of a used sr-22.

The only reason i can see buying the marauder is if you are hooked on that shape/style. That is a valid enough reason in my eyes considering we are talking about tactical rimfires.

If you want quality, durability, adjustability and endless add-on possibilities, then get the sr-22.

If you are not in a rush, hang around the EE forum until the right priced deal comes up. That may make your decision for you.

Either one is going to be between 450-600$ so as far as price goes, they are pretty close. The cheapest option is the Mossberg, but there is difference in quality.

lol... They are $200 brand new...

Thats cheap for the ee it should be around $290 -$320 with the cgn inflation lol

Well after looking at a couple I think ill go with the sr22 and find a quad rail for it and maybe put some cheaper parts on it to mimic my ar for the kids,im sure theyll get a kick out of it

i had an SR-22 and just found it to heavy,my arms got tired quick, looked cool though. If your Nephews are young this might be something to consider.:ar15:

Same here, till I got man arms ;)

To the OP, I have both, but I find myself taking my SR-22 out more often, though I don't think I could bring myself to sell my Marauder.
