Colt 1911 .22 Range Report

Hey Nutterz,

Got out to the range yesterday to try out my new Colt/Walther 1911 .22. Reliability was excellent using Hi velocity CCI ammunition.(Velocitor, MiniMag, Select Precision, and Blazer) However it didn't seem to like the AE HV 38 gr.,Winchester Xpert HV's, or Federal copper plated HP's as I was having some Ejecting Issues, and one failure to feed. The gun was Brand new so some of these issues MIGHT be attributed to the gun, but I'm calling it ammo related Failures at this time. I will try this ammo out again after I send a couple hundred more CCI's down range. Here's a look at its accuracy at 10 Yards off hand.

Results:

1) CCI Select Precision - 0.729" @ 10 yards
2) CCI Velocitor - 0.836" @ 10 Yards
3) CCI MiniMag - 1.402" @ 10 yards
4) CCI Blazer - 1.512" @ 10 yards

Groups are 5 shots eliminating the flier. Overall I'm Pretty happy with the results. Please note this is my first outing with this pistol and groups should improve once I break in the barrel and practice my trigger pull with this firearm.

They are mostly steel. Much heavier than my aluminium Kimber rimfire. The finish is a black matte.. maybe parkarized?

This gun is straight blow-back operated. The gun barrel is fixed to the frame. That must be why it is much less finicky than a Kimber rimfire or other conversion kits.
