Did a run to Sail today (Oshawa) and to my surprize they had 3 skids of 12 gauge (250 flats) on the floor and it was all no. 7.5, 8 and 9. (Federal and Winchester). I asked one of the sails staff behind the counter if they were able to get no. 2's and 4's and his response was a flat no. There seemed to be only a few flats had been removed from these skids and informed him that had these been 2's and 4's they problably would have been all gone buy now and that LeBarons has the same 12 gauge in stock 2's, 4's, 7.5, 8's, 9's and BB instock. The pricing was pretty well the same ($74.95 for 250). Its to bad LaBarons couldn't have expanded eastward.

I was very Disappointed at Sail as well in the overall Gun & Hunting Section. Ganons has nothing to worry about. The camping, napsacks etc... was not bad.....but for a larger Box style store not worth my drive.

I decided not to shop there after listening to an interview the owner did with Angelo Viola of the Outdoor Sports Journal on the Fan 590 in Toronto one Saturday morning.

Angelo ask why Sail didn't carry restricted firearms, and the guy was just such a condecending douchbag talking about restricteds with such contempt, I wanted to reach through the radio and slap him.

you're not the first one disapointed by sail and you won't be the last one. there service is horible and they don't have half the stock they put on the web sites. the only thing i like about them is their tax free week end a few time a years like this week end. i bought some remington hunting clothes yesterday, pants and jacket were both 150$ each in sale at 60$ each and tax free. again i was surprised they got my size in stock.

At Sail in Vaughan, just north of Toronto, they have just about everything you could possibly need & the sales staff are outstanding - helpful & friendly. My son was looking for a small Gerber/Fiskars backpack hatchet - SaIl had it & Bsspro didn't. Seems like they carry a higher-end line of products too.

They seem to be closer to MEC in their product line. Ive been into the vaughan store, and its "OK" but there wasn't anything there that made me wanna jump up and throw down my plastic. I find BP is just easier to get to when otw home and need to stop....call me lazy I guess

I went to vaughan store a few months back when they had a sale on. (the save HST one) and was kinda disappointed that they didn't have a reloading section.

I didn't expect them to have a restricted firearms section simply because bass pro doesn't either.

The guy behind the counter of the optics booth was a guy who was in the military and pretty helpful in explaining the differences between the different types of spotting scopes.

They're supposed to be opening a Burlington store in late June so watch out for opening specials, probably tax-free. Location listed on their website.

F SAIL!! they give me dirty looks whenever i go..and seem to not want to serve me.. i go to Dantes (little italy mtl)where they smile when they see me! (for real)

and now that i read this, F them for good!

I think it is a good alternative if nothing else in the area is open. I really like the rest of the store and their hunting selection is not bad.

I think the best way to describe them would be a "pretty good outdoors store, that just happens to sell some guns and ammo".

I hate that they dont have a reloading section. but there ammo selection is nice...and they price match

A little late on this, but I was at the opening of the Oshawa store. Very busy, but strangely lots of people leaving with nothing in hand. Went in anyways just to be disappointed. I was ready to spend, but no great deals. For instance, WWB .223 20/ $12.99 which ar just over $8 at Lebaron. Spyderco sharpener anywhere else is $60, $80 at Sail, really?!?!? Needless to say I walked out disappointed and empty handed :-( I won't go back.
